Where your data is stored
Light readings, calibration offsets, saved measurement history, and preferences in LuxFox are stored entirely locally on your device. LuxFox has no remote servers, cloud databases, or backend analytics, and never uploads your measurements over the internet.
Light sensor & Camera used locally only
LuxFox uses your device's ambient light sensor (TYPE_LIGHT) to calculate illuminance in lux and foot-candles in real time. On devices without a hardware light sensor, LuxFox offers an optional camera fallback using Camera2 auto-exposure metadata and luminance sampling in RAM. No photos are taken, no images are saved to storage, and no visual data is ever transmitted off your device.

Internet access is used solely for Google AdMob advertising and Google Play in-app billing verification. The Camera permission is optional and only requested on devices lacking a hardware light sensor when you choose to use the camera meter fallback.
