FAQ
What is the difference between seconds and milliseconds?
The unit menu applies to both directions and to the live clock. Seconds are ordinary Unix time. Milliseconds are that value times 1,000, which is what JavaScript's Date.now returns.
What does the timezone menu actually change?
Only the timestamp-to-date result. Local prints the date in your browser's locale. UTC prints an ISO string ending in Z. The date box is a local datetime field, so date-to-timestamp always reads that wall-clock time in your current time zone, even when UTC is selected.
What does the Now button fill in?
It writes the current moment into both the timestamp field and the date box, using the unit you selected. The clock beside the form keeps updating every second.
Which inputs are rejected?
A timestamp that is not a finite number, or a date the browser cannot represent, shows an error and leaves the previous result in place. The page converts only between your local zone and UTC. It does not offer a list of other time zones.
Does the conversion call a server?
No. Both directions use the date functions already in your browser. The number you paste is not sent to DangNH Studio.
