FAQ
Which barcode symbology is this?
Code 128, the linear barcode most retail and warehouse scanners read by default. It is not a QR code and it is not an EAN-13 symbol with a fixed 13-digit check digit.
Which characters are allowed?
Unaccented letters, digits, spaces, and common ASCII symbols from code 32 through 126. Accented letters and emoji are rejected. The value is limited to 80 characters. A string of only digits with an even length of at least 4 is encoded in the denser Code 128 subset C.
What file do I download?
An SVG. The bars are vectors, so you can scale the symbol for a label without the edges turning fuzzy. The human-readable text is printed under the bars.
How do I make a scanner read it?
Leave the white quiet zone around the bars, print dark bars on a light background, and do not squash the symbol. Most apps that support Code 128 can then read it. Cropping the margin is the usual reason a scan fails.
Is the code sent to a server?
No. The SVG is drawn in your browser from the text you typed. DangNH Studio does not receive or store that value.
