Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. The file stays in your browser. pdf-lib handles merge, split, rotate, reorder, watermark, metadata, and image-to-PDF. Exporting a page to PNG uses PDF.js, also in the browser.
What can the toolkit do today?
Merge files in the order you arrange, split selected pages into separate PDFs, set pages to a 90-degree rotation, extract or delete pages, reorder, add a text watermark, edit title, author, subject, and keywords, read basic info, build a PDF from PNG, JPG, or WEBP, or export the first page as a PNG. Password protect and unlock are not available.
Does Compress shrink pictures inside the PDF?
No. Compress rewrites the file with object streams. It does not downsample images or change page content, so a scan-heavy PDF can stay about the same size.
Which files are used when I select several?
Merge and image-to-PDF use every file, and you can move them up or down. The other actions use the first PDF only. A file over 50 MB shows a size warning and is still processed on your device.
What does PDF to image export?
The first page only, as a PNG drawn at twice the page size in pixels. Later pages are not exported.
